We had standing water in the back corner for eleven years. Two other companies looked at it and told us to live with it. Groundcrew regraded, put in a dry well, and planted the wet spot with things that like wet feet. Dry through two hurricanes now. I still do not entirely understand what they did back there but it worked.
Eleven years and not one settled stone in it. My brother-in-law used somebody cheaper that same spring. His is a birdbath.
Somebody finally knew the answer. I had replaced the same arborvitae three times and nobody could tell me why. Danielle walked the property, told me about the deer trail coming through the side yard, and put in a plant list built around it. Five years, nothing replaced.
Same two guys every Tuesday for nine years. They know where the dog gets out. They know the sprinkler head by the mailbox. Sounds like nothing until you have had four companies in five years.
The hill behind our house went into the neighbor’s yard every spring and we were getting notes about it. Two low walls and the whole bank planted. Held through last March when half the street did not. Not cheap, and they were straight with us about that from the first visit.
Twice now they have talked us out of the expensive thing. Once a sprinkler system we did not need, once resodding a lawn they said would come back on its own. It did. Ten years and counting.
